Well, after reading some of the comments, one in particular, that slammed GP for being a "white trash town" .... I about laughed my guts out!!! lol.... I am a man who has been all over the world, and am an "Army brat" so as a kid I was able to be fortunate to see much of our great country, including overseas. I've lived too many places to list them all, but Grants Pass is the GREATEST place to settle in for me and my family. If you were born and raised here, well, that's your tough luck if you don't like it. Regardless of what those ppl say though, after going around the globe and living in L.A. for yrs, I can tell you, the glamour of other towns / cities like Los Angeles is not all that great. Your dealing with ALOT more crap that in GP. Anyways, I've said my piece. lol.... come by our home site if interested. :) Thanks and have fun surfin !

Hello everybody, I lived in Grants Pass for a year ('96-'97) and I've really enjoyed it. I stayed at my hostfamily as an exchangestudent from Germany and graduaded from Grants Pass High School. Since I didn't get the yearbook of my class (yearbook 1996-1997), I would be so happy if somebody would sell it to me, since I'd enjoy all the memories in this book. Please contact me, if you wanna sell or if you know someone who wants to sell this yearbook. Thanx a lot!!!
I'm attending university in Denmark right now, it's great.
Feel free if you wanna contact me:

My son is attending the community college there, and I visited in June and just a few weeks ago. Grants Pass is a beautiful, "homey", and friendly place!! I can certainly understand why my son moved there. I only wish it weren't so far away from where I live, in Ohio---maybe I'll move to Oregon!!! Thanks to all of you in Grants Pass who made my trips so memorable, and who have been so kind to my son there. This is a great web site, too....

To all that know him, my Dad C.R.(Dick)Bonney is terminally ill
in Rogue Valley medical center in Medford Oregon. He grew up in Grants pass
and swore that he would never leave it. He has contributed much to this city, and all I ask in return are some prayers from those that know him. He is loved dearly by his wife, family and grand children and his passing will leave a
big hole in this little town. To those that are close to him, thaks you for sharing part of your lives with him. I know he loves each
and every one of you in return.

I was born and raised in Grants Pass. It is a beautiful place to live and to visit. Grants Pass has grown a lot since I left for college in 1974, (Debbie Hutchinson, GPHS '74), but I still love bringing my children to visit. Last time we hiked down the Rogue to some falls and took the jet boat trip. The parks are the best! Love the website!

I have lived in Grants pass for almost ten years. I can't think of anyplace else, that would help me, and my family the way the people of Grants pass have. I moved up here from the L.A. Airea. My doctor told me, I need to reduce the stres in my life, or I would have a heart attack. I sold my company, and moved up here. Only to find out I had A.L.S. There is no place else, where the people are so helpful. I don't think my family, and I could be cared for any better than the people of Grants pass. It may say, it's the climmet, but I say it's the people. Thank you Grants Pass.

Grants Pass is such a neat place and so many people think about moving out there. This site needs more statistical information: About elevation, population, incomes, stuff like that to help people to better visualize their potential new hometown.

Aside from experiencing tha longest winter of my life, I love it here. It took some getting use to at first, I was climatized to the warm Southern California weather, and having come up here in the summer, I didn't think about what it was that keeps everything so green, rain rain and more rain, but when the sun finally comes out you will say, thank God i'm in Grants Pass Oregon, or thank God I made it through 7 months of winter. On the rainy days you can go shoping at Wall Mart over and over again:-) I here many people say there is nothing to do here,And I did too at first but I have since found plenty to do, There is hikeing, bowling rolerskating, churches plays, movies, karaoke, trying to learn country line dancing and falling down, a nice college, AA meetings, and if your not an alcoholic you just pretend.Garage sales are abundant here in the summer. As far as the people are concerned, we have all types, Christians, Jews,Atheists,Hippies,Conservatives,Liberals.black helicopters, We have our share of crime, but not near as much of the violent stuff as you would find in the big cities. Alot of the kids here seem a bit strange to me with there nose earings and strange haircuts, but I find most of them are pretty friendly. I think my favorite part about this place is all the nature and mountains just a stones throw out side of the city. One thing I really like here is you don't get that oppressive feeling that the goverment owns everything here. There trying, but it is going to take them a while before they can tackel all these mountains. So else do ya want to know? About me, oh OK,I'm a male 41 single, no kids, never been married, a cross between a nerd a hippie and a christian. I own a repair business that keeps me poor, but I keep thinking I should do what I like and forget about the society norms. email me if you like. daveem@webtv.net

I grew up in the GP (Josephine County) area. There was not alot to do and I got into alot of trouble but I also did not take advantage of the opportunities that were made to me.Grants Pass is a beautiful town and would be a great place to retire. I read in the newspaper that the Caveman might be taken down and was very disappointed that some took such offense to it being there. I think that it is great and disappointed that it does hide behind tall bushes. I remember as a little girl I loved that statue and to this day look forward to seeing it when I pull in to GP. If anyone remembers me and cares to e-mail me please do.

I Love Grants Pass and would like to return to live someday. All you young pups who complain about how slow and boring it is, come down here in the drug invested suburbs and try raising small children. I would love for my children to live in a beautiful area with REAL rivers and not concrete channels. I will recieve my Master's Degree soon and return to raise my kids in the beautiful Oregon mountains of Grants Pass. If you hate the town so much go somewhere else and let the people who love it enjoy the peace. Love to Grants Pass from the LA suburbs.
I was looking for a city GIS position advertized a week ago but could not find it on your website. Could someone send me some info on positions involving Geography and GIS.

This town, to me, is a death trap. I've lived here since around '94 and I must say it does have a lot of beautiful land. But thats really all there is to it. The schools aren't the best and there is nothing that appeals to my interests or my choice of lifestyle. Recently I went into the library trying to look for some Wiccan books to study. I could not find one. Were they banned because of the questionable content? I don't know but what happened to freedom of religion? I am a Witch and I am damn proud! I wish people in this town would become a little more enlightened to the other aspects of life that maybe they thought were something other than they are. Please, if you are thinking of moving here, don't. This is not a good town. No good jobs. No nothing. This town is a trap.

I grew up in Grants Pass and miss it so much. I graduated from GPHS in (gasp!) '82! I'd love to visit again and would like to retire there. With my husband being in the military (Army, specifically) we've travelled throughout the world and can honestly say that Grants Pass is the most beautiful place I've ever seen (of course, I am a little biased due to sentimentality). If you remember me or just want to write, be my guest. I'd love to hear from anyone from my "old home town." I LOVE GRANTS PASS! Hope to hear from y'all soon (we now live in Georgia). Evy

I lived in Grants Pass for 18 years. Thank god I got out of that white trash town. It's the worst town filled with old people driving at 15 mph. All the teenagers hang out at Dutch Brothers, and most will most likely never get out of that dead-end town. Thank god I rose above the hockey locked people of GP and came up to college in Portland. People, listen. Go ANYWHERE else and then go back to Grants Pass. You will be in awe how pathetic it is. Good god, it's awful. Move away before you get sucked into the bingo parlors and antique shops. Oh yeah, and one more thing! A caveman? I had to put up with living in a town symbolized by a caveman for 18 years? Good god.. it certainly symbolizes the mentality of the people there, you closed minded bigots!

Hello to anyone interested in locating to our beautiful community of Grants Pass, Oregon. I have lived in Grants Pass and vicinity since 1946, arrived when I was 15 years old and can tell you that in all honesty, with all of my travels through-out the U.S.A. I have never gazed upon a more beautiful, picturesque landscape! I have had personal
experience in hiking just about every mountain within eyesight of Grants Pass, fishing, relic hunting, exploring,
etc. and count those times as some of the most enjoyable experiences of my life. I have rafted the Rogue River when a permit was not necessary back in the 60's. I am a retired
plywood plant worker, also worked in the woods falling and bucking timber. My graduating class at Grants Pass High School was 1951. I suppose many of us that have lived here
for any length of time have rode the peaks and valleys of
difficult times, such as winter time layoffs in the timber industry. bad market conditions for the plywood industry, etc. and have done many other things to help my family over the rough spots during some of those early working experiences. Things are a lot bette now, however, we have become much more diversified in our working situation. This is born out by the fact that more and more young people are
staying in the area. It is a great place to retire and settle down with people who are not afraid to lend a helping hand when needed. I have heard of people living next door to someone for 10 or so years in L.A. and not even know their names. That is a crime. We have churches of all different denominations, A tremendous athletic facility
in our All Sports Park, where can be seen two baseball facilities, a soccer field, a soon to be foot bridge across
the river from the sports park. and I guarantee, the most beautiful city park you will ever see with its green grass
and shade trees of all discriptions, Our Indian Mary park is
the crown jewell of Josephine County. and we have many others that are not far behind. Excellent restaurants, Great Campgrounds along the river for picnicing. For those of you that love to do fishing and boating there are an abundance of lakes all within 50 miles of Grants Pass. If you love the smells of Christmas trees, You will love Grants Pass situated in the extreme western edge of the beautiful Rogue River Valley where the mountains shelter the valley but not enough to keep out the sunshine. We have about a 160 day growing season, and about 26 inches of rainfall annualy. I have stayed all these years because I love my community, always have and always will! Some of you may relate to my next comment which is somewhat exagerated: We would rather starve to death among our friends, then to die an unhappy death among the multitudes in Los Angeles.

Hello to Grants Pass! I am currently residing in Portland
and am looking at hosting a 3-4 day rally (Honda PC800
motorcycle owners) in the Grants Pass area in Sept of 2000.
We are considering Grants Pass because of its beautiful
location and spectacular scenery and roads in the area. If
you have any information that would be pertinent to my
planning, I would appreciate it.
On a personal note: I graduated from South Milwaukee High in
South Milwaukee, WI, and I know that there is a fellow
graduate living in Grants Pass. If you know Roberta Garrett
Williams, please say hello for me!

I would like to track down family members in Grants Pass. I was born there in 1971. My family moved away 4 years later to Kentucky. I remember a Great Aunt Addie and Great Uncle Wayne. "Woolsey" is unheard of where I live now. Im not reuniting with anyone just trying to establish a little communication with a relative or friend of the family. The site was extremely helpful.

I was born and raised in Grants Pass. I graduated High School there in the class of '72. I went to College in Ashland and then moved to Seattle. I have never heard of any reunions for my class. Do they have them and who should I contact about them. I would love to come to one. I haven't been in Grants Pass since my folks moved away over 10 years ago. I sure bet it has changed. I hope someone from Grants Pass will send me some e-mail about the place. Look forward to hearing from you. Bill

Hello to Grants Pass and the rest of the planet.
I have recently graduated from college after studying finance here in southern New Mexico. Now that I have completed my undergraduate education, I have been looking for a really great place to relocate. Through a series of events and after a night with a map of the U.S. and a fist full of darts, Grants Pass has come to my attention as having the potential of being my future home.
Now that I have shared my situation with everyone that may surf onto this site (which happens to be really great I’ll add). I hope that all whom could shed some light onto what kind of life (from employment opportunities to social and recreation) that Grants Pass and the surrounding area can offer a 25 year old single male from New Mexico. Also, just as important would be what a 25 year old single male from New Mexico could potentially contribute to the Grants Pass and surrounding area.
I truly appreciate all responses that I may receive.
Best wishes,
